What Can SkinPen Treat?
SkinPen Precision is FDA-cleared for improving the appearance of facial acne scars in adults aged 22 and older, across all Fitzpatrick skin types, and for neck wrinkles in Fitzpatrick skin types II–IV.
Patients may also seek microneedling for overall skin texture and appearance, although not all aesthetic uses are FDA-cleared indications.
A Medical Approach to Acne Scars
Acne scars are not all the same.
During your consultation, I evaluate scar depth, skin quality, active acne, and other contributing factors.
For patients with active inflammatory acne, I may recommend medical treatment before microneedling.
What to Expect
A series of sessions may be needed for optimal improvement. Mild redness, sensitivity, and temporary skin changes can occur following treatment.
